REFLECTION OF GENDER PERCEPTION OF MARRIED MEN AND WOMEN TO FAMILY FUNCTIONS

In this study, the parents of students in Ahmet Vefik Pa?a Elementary School, from 1st to 8th grade, in Çankaya district of Ankara were reached. It was aimed to define the gender perception and related difficulties of married males and females in their point of view. The research was defined in general screening model and the students of 1st grade to 8th grade in Ahmet Vefik Pa?a Elementary School were contacted. The address of families were obtained from both students and teachers, and study was carried out with the 371 volunteered married men and women among the contacted parents. In the interviews, the married volunteers were interviewed according to the interview form prepared by the researcher and Family Assessment Scale (FAS). Significant results of the study are as follows: Socio-demographic and family features of married men and women mostly affect the family functions. It is seen that the current situation in their own family is more positive compared to root families. When the results of each situation (root family, own family, ideal family) were evaluated according to gender; it was observed that in-house roles resisted more than other roles
