RADIATION SAFETY IN THE OPERATING ROOM; INFORMATION BEHAVIOR AND THE PROTECTION FROM IONIZED RADIATION EMPLOYEES

The advanced technology used in the operating room where employees are faced with certain risk factors. One of these factors occupational health and ionizing radiation is known as a physical threat to security. In some cases, surgery for the treatment of patients with C-arm fluoroscopy device that works with ionizing radiation, x-ray principle. Lead apron, lead to ionizing protective equipment such as screens radiation as to protect from the harmful effects of c-arm fluoroscopy behaviors like avoiding as much as possible when the work of the device reduces the amount of ionizing radiation exposure to thick. Ionizing radiation can damage the tissues and cells, genetic, it can adversely affect some systems, such as birth and reproductive health. take measures for radiation safety in the operating room and is very important in terms of protecting the health workers apply. The purpose of this study is that the personnel in the operating theater using C-arm image intensifier device; by detecting the radiation safety and the level of knowledge and awareness on protection from ionizing radiation and to evaluate the behavior of using protective equipment. In this study; quantitative research methods were used. Results SPSS (Statistical packageforthesocialsciencesf is) is assessed by Windows 11.5 software. The median as descriptive statistics to evaluate the data, minimum, maximum, and percent (%) Chi-square test values and the comparison of the data is used. 0.05 level of significance is based. The results are interpreted in tables. To correct the shortcomings in the operating room team of radiation safety and radiation protection, it was determined that the need for inservice training related to radiation safety
