PROSPECTIVE CLASSROOM TEACHERS' USAGE OF MUSIC TEACHING MATERIALS

This research is a research which is used to determine the qualifications and use of instructional materials within the framework of music course curriculum. The study group of the study consisted of 54 prospective classroom teachers who are studying at Mersin University, Faculty of Education, Department of Primary School Teacher Education and taking music teaching course in the spring semester of 2016-2017 academic year. In the study, data were collected through the micro teaching practices conducted by the researcher within the framework of music teaching course through observation form which could reflect the material preferences of the prospective teachers. The data were analyzed by the researcher during the course process and by the evaluation of the video recordings. As a result of the research, it is observed that the materials that the teacher candidates prefer to use the most in the music lesson are computer and projection, while the materials that the teacher candidates use least are powerpoint and real objects (instruments, etc.).The findings of the study were discussed and recommendations were made in the light of the literature.
