German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe has added extraordinary work to the world of literature, art and science with the influence of his profound wisdom in his life. His life and works have left deep imprints not only in German literature but also in world literature. Die Wahlverwandschaften, which is quite different from his Own works and works of world literature, It is one of the most profound and impressive works of Goethe.In this study, the marital problems of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Die Wahlverwandtschaften were discussed. The work has very different and original features both structurally and content. For this purpose, the life of the author was first examined in our study. Die Wahlverwandschaften was analyzed with the method of werkimmanent criticism. Then, in each of the characters of the work, the concept of marriage is examined. Goethe's concept of marriage has also been determined through the figures of Die Wahlverwandschaften, an experimental novel which is one of the greatest writers of World Literature and German Literature.
