Abstract

Author(s): Düriye KOZLU İSMAİLOĞLU

New forms of expression have been studied in the picture along with replacing the representation dimension of the picture with camera and, in continuation, presenting the motion to the viewer. At this stage, the point where the image reaches is an expression consisting of a two-dimensional color pigments on a flat surface that is reduced to a chemistry of the paint. Self-understanding of this art without reference to anything else strengthens the statement of “art for art". However, autonomy of the art starts to shake with attempting to capture the movement of the canvas surface, introducing the dreams, placing the objects and re-addressing the issue of representation. All kinds of visual impact on cinema and then the screen are considered as the moving image. Of course it is clearly seen that these pictures have different characteristics from each other when they are examined in different aspects. These pictures on cinema, video, televised screen, virtual screen and so form an image world. Picture which is trying to capture a moment on the two-dimensional surface; presents what is created on the image surface sometimes directly, sometimes quoted while, on the other hand, trying to find reference points on the moving image with some elements such as point of view, depth of field, perspective, color, movement. Screen and canvas lean on each other in desire to show the reality and in the created a false reality. While there is an image which the audience can perceive by its own motion on one side, on other side an image is presented at a single point of watching that is created by the flow of the picture in a certain period of time Today, if human being is considered to read less and watch more, it is seen that how fast the information, carried by the image world consisting of these picture, is produced and consumed and continued without slowing by adding new ones in replacement. Meaning of these images which consecutively flow into the life starts to shallow, perhaps they go out of detection and sensing within hours, perhaps seconds. In this article; mutual impacts and allusions of the picture which is created in self-world of the artist and motion picture which is created by artist, device and the process will be addressed and the forms of presentation will be tried to be assessed in the contemporary art and screen world
