ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT LEVEL OF ACADEMICIANS FROM FACULTY OF SCIENCE-LITERATURE

In this study, organizational commitment level of academicians who work at the faculty of Science–Literature discussed at the level of three components of organizational commitment. Organizational commitment level is attempted to explain by demographic variables. The participants of this study are 92 academicians from each academic career from a state university in Middle Anatolia. Data were collected by organizational commitment scale and personal information form. In data analizing quantitative analysis techniques are used. Mann Whitney U test is used for pairwise comparisons and Kruskal Wallis H test for multiple comparisons. According to the results of this study, organizational commitment level of the academicians is moderate. The highest scored component of organizational commitment is affective and then normative commitment. Continuance commitment is the lowest scored component. There is a statistically significant relation between organizational commitment level and the title and the education level of the academician. Also there is a relation between continuance and normative commitment and the title of the academician. The findings of this study are discussed and some suggestions are made.
