ON THE WORDS “BÜKRİ”, “HUMP” AND “HUNCHBACK”

Human beings did not neglect to use the word which is reflect the characteristics of own body for describing the external world. While praiseworthy aspects of body are expressed, on the other hand body's physical imperfections are given prominence. Hunchback, one-handed, the blind, the deaf, the use of expressions such as nicknames in Anatolia is a very common attitude. In this study, curved, flat, humpback meaning that is kambur is investigated. Besides, bükri and hörgüç, are meaning humpback, are examined. Also the etymology of these words, in the historical period, the shapes, variations of regional dialect and modern dialects has been given to the provisions.
