Old age is a universal phenomenon. Aging world population is one of the most important social changes of the century. Almost in all countries around the world, there is an increase in the number and rate of elderly individuals. In Turkey, the elderly population is gradually increasing and its rate is higher than the youth population. Based on the increase in the elderly population, there are emerging physical, mental, social, and economic problems related to old age. During old age, especially factors such as spouse lose, being retired, fear of death and loneliness cause the elderly to feel sad, calm down, become introverted as a result of mood changes, and have decreased perception, problem solving, and adaptation abilities. All these resultant problems should be addressed and evaluated. Therefore, loneliness being an important emotional experience in the period of old age and the correlation between loneliness and health were examined in this study.
