NAMES OF HUMAN BODY AND ORGANS IN DIVANU LUGATIT-TURK

The unique work of 11th-century Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk was written between the years 1074-1077 by Kâ?garl? Mahmud. The work was written in order to teach Turkish to Arabs, and it is one of the most important work of two Karahans period with Kutadgu Bilig. In the work containing about 8000 words, Ka?garl? gived important informations about period of 11. century Turkish Word, and Turkish tribes lived in that period and their spoken mouth features, names of mountain, lake and places, equipments used in proverbs, diseases and treatment of diseases.

In our study, the words belongs to human body and anatomy in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk was tried to be listed. The vocabulary have been classified under the headings such as internal organs, reproductive organs, bones, names of joint and basic organs.
