MOTIVATION AND EXPERIENCES OF THE VISITORS OF CULTURAL ASSETS: NEMRUT EXAMPLE

Today, due to the rapidly aggravating conditions of modern life, tourists want to relax and get different experiences during the holiday. For this reason, holiday expectations turn to alternative options with changes in tourist demand. Therefore, travels to cultural tourism, which is one of the alternative tourism types, are also increasing. Especially because of the historical process in making many different cultures in Turkey are known to have hosted a large number of destinations of cultural tourism. One of them, Nemrut Mountain, attracts the attention of many local and foreign cultural tourists. In this study, it was aimed to determine the travel motivations and experiences of those involved in cultural tourism. In the research, sampling method was preferred as sampling method. In this sampling technique, all participants who want to answer the questionnaire are included. As part of the study, a questionnaire was applied to those traveling to Nemrut in 2019 and a total of 356 questionnaires were included. 21 questionnaire forms were excluded from the scope of the research because they contain incorrect and incomplete data. Analyzes were carried out on 335 valid questionnaires that were found to be usable
