METAPHORE-BASED CONCEPT TEACHING IN RELIGIOUS TEACHING (DKAB COURSE, 11th CLASS, 3rd UNIT EXAMPLE)

The mixed method was used in this study in which the effect of teaching with metaphorical method on the academic achievement of students in religious culture and moral knowledge lesson concept teaching was discussed. The quantitative part was carried out with the experimental research method, and the qualitative part was carried out with the qualitative data collection method through metaphor. As the sample of the study, 4 classes studying in the 11th grade of a secondary school in the province of Artvin in the 2019-2020 academic year were selected. According to student views, the metaphorical method; It has effects such as increasing the retention, facilitating learning, and enhancing creativity. According to the pre-test/post-test results, the metaphorical method was effective in increasing the academic success of the students. This effect is greater in successful classes with high readiness. As a result, metaphorical method makes a positive contribution to teaching concepts in religious culture and moral knowledge lesson teaching.
