The aim of the study elementary education in social studies courses to local history, practices and student achievement for students is to determine the effect of the product. This study has been conducted on fourth grade students (n=34) enrolled in a class of an elementry school. The quantitative and qualitative approaches have been mixed. The basic design of the study is one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design. The survey to collect data in the tracking performance test, consisting of open-ended questions, interview form, prepared teaching materials for local history practice, the students prepare their stories, poems used. Qualitative and quantitative data obtained from the research were analyzed separately. Quantitative data analysis, the dependent groups t-test was used. Qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis. Research at the end of elementary school fourth-grade social studies course in local history, applications for students to successfully influence the students'local history, applications, fun with their applications through their own local history learning opportunity that, subject to interest of information increased the students reading, old and new in relationship increased skills, local history, products, applications from students was concluded as positive influences.
