Kutahyal? Harimi is one of the sixteenth century poets. He is also called Rahimi-zade Harimi as his father was known with his pen name Harimi. Having a good growing-up period under the protection of the Ottoman Palace thanks to his father’s influence, Harimi was assigned as Dergah-? Ali Cavusu. The poet, who participated in several expeditions with the Ottoman army as a result of his duty, died on one of these expeditions in 1594. Spending an important period of his life in the Eastern Expeditions, he was famous for his poetic writings and prose which were about the impressions he gained from the expeditions he participated himself. His only poetic work showing his poetic style was Gonca-i Bag-? Murad masnavi. Gonca-i Bag-? Murad is a gazavatname that is about the events before and after the conquest of Tebriz, which was one of the important stops of the Ottoman Empire during the conquering operations in the Caucasia in the late 16th century. The aim of this study is to find out the role of Harimi in our literary history by analyzing his life, literary personality, works, and Gonca-i Bag-? Murad masnavi.
