Author(s): Mehmet ULUKAN

In this study, it is aimed to determine the relationship between the two variables by examining the happiness and psychological resilience levels of teachers who have the biggest task in the difficult education process in terms of different variables. This study is a descriptive research in relational survey model. The sample group of the study consisted of 336 teachers, 218 female, and 118 male, working in different high schools in the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Marmara regions. As a data collection tool, "Happiness Scale" developed by Hills and Argyle (2002) and adapted to Turkish by Do?an and Çötok (2011), and Smith et al. "The Brief Psychological Resilience Scale" developed by (2008) and adapted to Turkish by Do?an (2015) was used. Parametric tests were applied due to the normal distribution of the data. Bonferonni and Tamhane tests were used to determine the direction of the difference. Also, the Pearson Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between teachers' happiness and psychological resilience. The significance level was determined as .05. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was determined that the happiness and psychological resilience levels of the teachers were above the middle level. It was determined that the happiness and psychological resilience levels of teachers did not differ according to gender. While it was observed that teachers' happiness levels differed according to age, it was observed that there was no significant difference between psychological resilience and age. It was observed that there was a significant difference in favor of those who do sports, exercise, or physical activity in the comparison between the teachers' state of doing sports, exercise or physical activity, and happiness and psychological resilience. Similarly, it was determined that there is a significant difference between teachers participating in social activities and happiness and psychological resilience. It has been determined that there is a significant difference between the happiness and psychological resilience levels of the teachers and their selfdefinition in daily life in favor of the teachers who stated that they are peaceful. As a result, it has been determined that there are a medium-level and positive relationship between teachers' happiness levels and their psychological resilience. In other words, as the happiness levels of teachers increase, their psychological resilience also increases. Or, as psychological resilience increases, their happiness levels also increase. In line with these results, it can be said that teachers' happiness levels predicted their psychological resilience.
