INTERTEXTUAL RELATIONS IN THE STORY OF THE MEN OF THE CAVE

In this study the story, called the Men of the Cave, of Ayfer Tunc being one of important authors of Contemporary Turkish Literature was examined in formal and semantic format, in the context of story fiction-reality relation and of intertextual relations which are ever seen as an obligatory step of literary analyses. In the handled the men of the cave text, that the reality locates its place to its own indicator/model, that the reality of a place is told with a new look in the contexts of space and place and that the story is made written again to a fictional character by revealing the opposite of the reality are treated as problematic. The author in the men of the cave stated the escape of the reality from the vanishing quickly by leaving its place to its fake in contemporary world and his longing to immortality. The apartment, which assumes it will arrive to immortality by realizing own death, is a symbol of the things which can be themselves in the extent to they deny their existence.
