Innovation has become a critical determinant of organizational success, requiring employees to engage in innovative work behavior (IWB). This study examines the influence of social impact and task variety on IWB and explores the mediating role of work meaningfulness. Drawing from job characteristics theory and self-determination theory, this research hypothesizes those employees who perceive higher social impact and engage in diverse tasks experience greater work meaningfulness, which in turn fosters IWB. A review of existing literature and empirical findings highlight the importance of meaningful work in facilitating innovative behaviors. The paper discusses theoretical and practical implications, emphasizing the need for organizations to enhance social impact perception and task variety to drive innovation.
