Early modernization process starting from the the mid 19th century to dating back to the first years of the Republic, constitutes Turkey’s socio-political backyard. Early modernization is the process of building a modern and secular society by disconnecting Ottoman ties completely. It was aimed to reveal that the new state has a modern and secular structure by increasing the position of women, which are the most basic means of this construction process, in society. One of the signs that this approach is functional is that women who carried out important activities during the war periods could not have equal citizenship rights with men in the 1924 Constitution. The fact that the Suffarapet movement, which gained concreteness with the attempt of the establishment of the Women's People's Party in 1923, has disturbed the executive staff, is another indication that women's rights are approached functionally.
