At the beginning it was told that we did not have such a problem however, after a short while Cyprus was acepted as a “national case” and was taken out of political area. The discourse about Cyprus has showed an alteration in accordance with the political atmosphere and has evolved from “Cyprus is Turk” into “ Taksim Thesis”. Nevertheless it has never been off the agenda of public opinion. The conflicts between the parties, the sensitivity of national awareness towards the events brought the interference. In this study the originating process of this interference in Cyprus problem is discussed.
