Bulamam?? Sorular.” An outstanding poet among his contemporaries, he is described as a “poet of imagery.” This is an aspect that must not be overlooked when analyzing his poems. Personal and social problems of his time are main themes in his poetry. From a form-based point of view, Gözlüklü ?iir does not fall into a certain form of verse. Language throughout the poem is daily Turkish with extensive formulaic expressions and idioms used profusely to improve its expressive power. Alliterations in the midst and end of lines add up to the overall harmony. This study wants to bring the meaning universe of Ergülen’s Gözlüklü ?iir to a new perspective for readers.
