GRAVESTONES IN CENTER MOSQUE BURIAL GROUND OF INEBOLU GEMİCİLER VILLAGE (EVRENYE)

Gemiciler Village (Evrenye) is connected to the town center of ?nebolu district in Kastamonu province. In Gemiciler Village (Evrenye) Center Mosque burial ground, total 20 Ottoman gravestone sample that have been able to reach to the present steadyingly are available. Of these gravestones, while 13 of them are male head stones, 7 of them are female head stones. Marble used as mainly material on the gravestones. The processing method as the ground engraving - scraping technique was applied. As for the ornament composition; herbal characters with objective characters are used. On the grave stones we studied and on which date is available, the oldest dated sample is A.D. 1857-58 and the most recent is 1873.
