GEORG SİMMEL’İN SOSYAL GRUPLARLA İLGİLİ GÖRÜŞLERİNİN ÇATIŞMACI YAKLAŞIMI ÜZERİNDEN ANALİZİ

Abstract

Author(s): Serdal Fidan*

Georg Simmel’s study of sociology focuses on social interaction rather than on the subject of psychology, the individual or the subject of sociology. By examining social phenomena abstractly in historical and social dimensions, it reveals a sociological content that emphasizes the dialectical relationship between the individual and society. Simmel introduced macro insights in small group research from a microsociological perspective. Their views are important in terms of understanding and explaining small groups, especially in increasing efficiency and harmony in the social structure. Social groups are communities that provide important information as models of the social system. Simmel’s insights into microsociology and his turn to sociological imagery inspired phenomenology, ethnomethodology, symbolic interactivity, and the Chicago School. Simmel had a profound impact on modern sociology. His formal sociological understanding has a social psychological and philosophical character and has influenced the micro-perspectives of symbolic Interactive. His areas of study are widespread, but he focuses on small group dynamics and the interaction of these groups. According to him, the research area of sociology is on micro structures rather than macro structures. Simmel treats conflict as a feature of modern societies. Conflict is a phenomenon that has an impact on both internal and external relations of groups. Based on these concepts, the purpose of the study involves an analysis of Simmel’s views on micro-groups through a confrontational approach. According to Simmel, micro-groups, social interaction and conflict in intergroup relationships have a significant impact on the differentiation and integration of social groups.
