GEOGRAPHIC OBSERVATIONS OF THE URBAN CONSERVATION AREA IN AFYONKARAHISAR

Afyonkarahisar is located at the crossroads of West Central Anatolia and in one of the provinces to be effective thermal tourism in recent years. Traditional dwellings located in Afyonkarahisar Province Centre Conservation Area, is one of the best examples that reflect the terms of the geographical environment. Before 1950 slow urban migration and urbanization trend has been more effective in the current state of residence. This is a ground up construction of dwellings close to the geographical environment, used building materials obtained. In addition, the methods and techniques used in the construction of houses in the region are in great harmony with climatic conditions of the region.
