The gender equality goal is an important determinant in assessing human development for each country, as well as providing information on the economic and social status of women in society. Because that each human being actively participates in the processes that steer the lives of them and the mankind is important for human development. Although Turkey is among the countries in which high human development exists, inequality emerges between men and women when gender (in)equality indicators are analyzed. The gender equality goal in Turkey requires to take the different needs of women and men into consideration. Such an approach increases the need for gender sensitive budgeting. Thus, the aim of this study is to explain the significance of gender sensitive budgeting over Turkey in the lights of human development indicators.
