In this study,historical fountains in the town cenre of Gebze in Kocaeli are searced in the aspect of Turkish art. In conclusion with the field research done in the range of the study, seven fountains living up to date are determined. The fountains which date back 18th and 19th century were built as neighbourhood fountains and one-sided and one-arched. Of the fountains surviving, while four ofthem are with pointed arch, one of them is circular arched. The aim of this study is to introduce the fountains of Gebze to the science world with documents and also to determine the role of these both in its self-development and also in the architacture of Turkish fountains.
