FOREIGN STUDENTS’ VIEWS REGARDING TURKISH LANGUAGE: GAZİANTEP UNİVERSITY SAMPLE

The field of Turkish teaching to foreigners is a sub-branch of Turkish education and it is a day-by-day developing field which was established to teach Turkish to foreign people who want to learn the language not only within the boundaries of Turkey but also across the world. In this circumstance, it has had a growing popularity which has led to the increase in the studies about Turkish teaching to foreigners. The conducted studies both solve the problems encountered in langauge teaching and bring suggestions for solution. The aim of this study is to identify the views of foreign Turkish learners, who learn Turkish at TÖMER in Gaziantep University, regarding the Turkish language. The research is a qualitative one and a semi-structured interview form was used as a medium for data collection. The questions were designed so as to reflect students’ opinions on the Turkish language. The education level of students include undergraduate degree, bachelor’s degree, doctor’s degree with B2 level.
