FAMILY LEADERSHIP ORIENTATION SCALE (FLOS): VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY

The purpose of this study is developing a scale which determine leadership orientation of a family in terms of social, economical, political and cultural aspects. This study is completed in two basic stages. In the first stage 160-items item pool is constituted according to the theoretical foundation about family leadership. With the help of expert opinions 72-items test form of the scale is constituted and is applied to 946 college students. After EFA and CFA 28-items final form of the scale is obtained. In the second stage of this study 28-items scale is applied to 758 college students. The findings showed that the scale has 6 factors. Cronbach’s Alpha internalconsistencycoefficientfor EFA sample is ,89 and for CFA is ,87. Thesefactorsexplained 68,49 % of thevariance in thisscale. Accordingto CFA findings, χ2/df= 1,981; CFI= ,933 and RMSEA= ,051. All fit indices (χ2/df< 2,5; CFI > ,90 ve RMSEA < ,06)takeacceptablevaluesthereforethescaleitemsareappropriate.
