FACTORS AFFECTING THE MEDICAL DESTINATION SELECTION OF HEALTH TOURISTS

Medical tourism has been an emerging consumer trend in recent years. It rapidly diversify, improve and moving towards being an important alternative tourism in the world. Medical tourism means traveling from living place to any place somewhere else due to health reason (economic composed of treatment, short waiting time or higher quality health care, etc.) particularly in order to avoid treatment. These developments in the field of medical tourism in the study were evaluated in parallel Turkey's position in terms of providing services. The results of the survey on awareness of hospital staff within the scope of medical tourism and in terms of problems encountered when servicing patients at a private hospital were presented. The population of survey research conducted to 150 hospital staff at a private hospital between February and March 2015. According to the results of communication with patients is the biggest problem, it was concluded that service quality is the biggest motive which patients prefer.
