EXAMINING THE COMIC STRIPS WHICH TAKES PLACES ON THE TEXTS ON SECONDARY SCHOOL TURKISH LANGUAGE COURSE BOOKS IN TERMS OF EDUCATION OF VALUES

The main aim of this paper is determined the educational values of comic strips which takes places in Turkish course books in 2018-2019 for secondary school. Document analysis which is belonging to qualitative research techniques was used for this paper. Descriptive analysis was used for the results obtained. The field of study of the study constitutes Turkish textbooks which are given free for public schools by MEB used in 2018-2019 academic year. The comic strips which are used in Turkish course books are constituted the group of study. These comic strips are examined and the values of comic strips are detected. As a result of research; family, tenacity, success, sedulity, human relations, curiosity, self-audit, esteem, love and helpfulness are the most seen values; and modesty, generosity, honesty, fidelity, and have a conscience are the less seen values. Following the searches, it is determined that the comic strips which are used in the secondary school Turkish course books in 2018 2019 academic term are quite few. However, comic strips have substantial content for education of values. Also, about education of values, they are emphasizing the importance of comic strips which are catch the interest and attention of children.
