EXAMINATION OF BURNOUT LEVEL OF VOCATIONAL MEDICAL HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

This study aims to determine the burnout level of the Vocational Medical High School teachers and whether the burnout level differs with different variables. The research is organized according to the survey model. The research population consists of 2013- 2014 academic year Medical High School teachers working in ?stanbul.The research sample is formed using random cluster sampling method from 144 teachers of 12 schools. The Medical High School teachers attitudes towards the work is determined by Maslach Burnout Inventory developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and adapted to Turkish by Ergin (1993). The result shows that the teachers have an intermediate level of burnout scores. There is no significant difference between the groups and Burnout Inventory Subscales according to types of schools participants work, gender, marital status and their residences. In the total scale there is a significant arithmetic mean difference between the teachers’ burnout levels in terms of their ages but no signficant difference in subdimensions. In terms of seniority and insensitivity subdimension there is a significant difference between the teachers and no other significant difference in other dimension.
