EVALUATIONS ON AHMET RASIM’S WORK TECRUBESIZ ASK

Abstract

Author(s): Gokay DURMUS

Ahmet Rasim was one of the amusing figures of the Ottoman media and literature. Therefore, there is a great interest in his works produced in various genres. As his works left in newspapers and journals and forgotten in libraries are being uncovered, it is seen that Ahmet Rasim was a sociologist with a strong observation skill. In this study, his interest in literature is the starting point while revealing the components of his aforementioned identity. This means revealing what kind of path Ahmet Rasim followed as a literary figure. The first section of the study is a summary of the author’s life and general outline of the work. Then, plot structure of Tecrübesiz A?k and characters are analyzed. The following section includes an analysis of time, setting, and perspective elements of the work. It is argued in this study that Tecrübesiz A?k bears the same literary qualities as his other literary works. In this sense, this work is also an exemplification of Tanzimat Reform period novels and stories.
