Families with disabled children have many difficulties in their lives. Thus, various financial and spiritual support needs of the families are determined and tried to be met. Psychological support programs are being implemented to help families cope with the stress they are experiencing as well as meeting their needs such as health services and financial assistance. Spiritual counseling is a method of support that also involves religious explanations against traumatic events in life. There are many studies suggesting diversity and cultural approach in the support for family. In our country, spiritual support is given at hospitals and prisons. "Disabled coordinators" within the Presidency of Religious Affairs are on the agenda for spiritual support for disabled people and their families. In this study, a sample application on the Islamic religious framework was tried through examination ofreligious counseling. Study was undertaken with six sessions with 5 volunteer mothers met during the visits to rehabilitation centers for special education, involving topics such as "being guilty and giving value to life", "examen and patience", "consent and submission".In this practice, it was aimed to change the negative religious thoughts and perceptions in mind with alternative positive thinking, through using their beliefs as a source and empower them spiritually. The families left this minor practice leaving positive thoughts behind. It is suggested that such studies should be organized regularly and supported by various social activities.
