EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: A QUALITATIVE STUDY ON THE PARTICIPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DOWN SYNDROME IN WORKING LIFE

In this study which examined the effects of occupation of individuals with Down Syndrome on themselves and their families, the subjects such as down syndrome, family communication, attitudes of families, employment of individuals with down syndrome, social support were discussed. The research was carried out only on the axis of business life. In this study, the information about the individuals with Down Syndrome is given and the research on the employment of the individuals with Down Syndrome has been done. In the study which is a qualitative research, interview technique was used, in-depth interviews were made and more clear and detailed answers were sought. The semi-structured questionnaire was used in the interviews. The responses obtained in the interviews were interpreted by comparisons; As an important result, it was observed that families have generally positive opinions about children's participation in business life.
