ELDERLY WHO ARE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN WRITTEN PRESS

In order to retrospectively review the news published in connection with domestic violence victims aged, the highest number of newspapers in circulation was included in the study. he sample of the study is the aged victims of domestic violence in these newspapers. The same news in different newspapers or the same news that was republished on different days of the week were handled once. According to this, 88 reports were obtained and the news items were grouped according to the gender of the victim, age, violent people, the cause of violence, the city where they reported, and the resultant variables of domestic violence. According to the survey data, among the elderly who are suffering from domestic violence, those who are in the 75-84 age group, women, people exposed to violence by their son, people who are violent for taking money and those who are suffering from physical violence are leading. In the order of the stories that are the subject of the news; While Istanbul ranks first, it is followed by Adana and Diyarbakir respectively.
