EFFECTS OF MOVIES AND TV SERIES ON THE CHOOSE OF TOURISTIC DESTINATIONS: A CASE OF EAST BLACK SEA REGION

Television is in the first place among mass media with its effectiveness and frequence. The increase in the production of television with the developing technology has given rise to the numbers of television in the houses of people. This has triggered an increase in the TV production. Television publishing which affects the knowledge, emotions, attitudes, opinions, behaviours of people has been used as a promotion tool in tourism by the means of films and series. These kinds of productions help to create some symbols for the audiences about the places that can be visited and this can be effective in the decision process of destination choice. This study aims to reveal whether the films and series shot in Eastern Black Sea region affect destination choice of visitors that come to this region. Data was collected through the survey conducted with the local tourists who visited this region. The research areas are Rize and Trabzon provinces which are frequently used for films and series. According to the findings gained from the result of the study, the films and series shot of East Blacksea region effect the destination choice of visitors and this has a big role of destination choice of visitors.
