EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TABLATURE SYSTEM IN BEGINNER STAGE CLASSICAL GUITAR EDUCATION

In this research, it is aimed that whether the tablature system applied to teach basic knowledge and skills in beginner stage classical guitar education which is included in the volunteer music education, has an effect on increasing the performance success levels of students. Study group of the research (N=10) is composed of undergraduate students from various departments who are currently studying in the spring semester of 2016-2017 term in Nam?k Kemal University. The research is designed according to the experimental pattern model with final test control group. In the research, while the beginner stage classical guitar class curriculum has been applied to experiment group, the traditional notation system has been applied to the control group. According to the results obtained, it has been seen that the performance success level of experiment group is higher than control group’s at the end of application process. In conclusion, it has been confirmed that the beginner stage classical guitar class curriculum based on tablature system is much more effective than the traditional notation system.
