Today, with the change of tourist education and wishes, interest towards tourism types based on nature tourism has increased considerably. Many countries that are aware of this have started to invest in ecotourism and nature-based tourism varieties in order to evaluate this awareness in order to diversify tourism. The concept of ecotourism, which has developed especially in the 1990s, is characterized by rural and cultural tourism elements and is expressed as the most suitable type of tourism that can be developed in sensitive natural and cultural areas. This tourism tour has created a unique tourist profile which is expressed as an ecotourist. The purpose of this study is to determine the motivations of ecotourists visiting the Aegean and Mediterranean regions within the context of ecological tourism. For this purpose, easy sampling (non-random) method was preferred among the techniques not based on probability and 277 questionnaire applications were made. Demographics such as age, income status, education, and motivation for ecotourism have been identified and suggestions for increasing ecotourism motivation have been presented.
