After the proclamation of the Turkish Republic in 1923, significant changes were observed not only in the political system, but in all areas of society. Not only the westernization is considered as an official ideology after the Tanzimat (Reforms), but the ideology was spread, expanded and implemented in every aspect of life, by the staff who founded the republic. Westernization is found as a problem in the Turkish literature since the Tanzimat (Reforms) literature. The earlier authors, before the Republic, include fiction manifestations of ‘crisis of civilization’ in different areas. During the ‘One-party period’ in 1923- 1950, the most serious steps are taken toward westernization. This theme (westernization) in parallel also widely takes place in literature. One of the main contexts, which is discussed by the westernization is, a woman's issue. This study anylises, in the plays which was written in 1923-1950, the woman’s westernization, the social status, the position and what kind of problems about woman are drawn attantion in the family
