The palace school Enderun was center of Ottoman kapikulu system. Ichoghlani, who were collected than different cities of empire, prisoner of war, was educated here. Many ichoghlanis had different abilities, traits. Therefore, the school was not homogenous. Each dormitory was hosted on dwarf, falconer, and dumbs which known as odasiz.
Dumbswho knows Bî-zebânhave existed since reign of The Conqueror Sultan Mehmed in Enderun and protected powers until Enderun was abolished in Topkapi Palace. They were the responsibility of a prime dumb in different dormitories of Enderun and helped other ichoghlanis there. Their population reached sixtyeight people in the 17th century, but it reduced seriously in reign of IV. Mehmed.
In this article, it is focused on position in Enderun, economic gain and the population decrease of dumbs in seventeen century.
