DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES QUESTIONNAIRE: THE STUDY OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY

The purpose of this work is developing a measurement tool in order to measure the adverse childhood experiences of adolescents and adults. A total of 775 secondary and higher education students who studied 2014-2015 academic year in Batman consist this study group. The participants are % 42.8 male students (N=332) and % 57.2 female students (N= 443). In addition % 44 .51 of participants are university and % 55.49 is high school students. In development section , on the first stage exploratory factor analysis after that the confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis were conducted. The scale was identified as a consequence of exploratory factor analysis. Family life (4 sections) , school life (4 sections) , personal-social life (4 sections) were comprised of lower dimensions. Load values of family life subscales is 718-802, school life dimensions are 508-843 and the load values of personal and social experiences subscales ranged from 646–751. confirmatory factor analysis results were found to be excellent or acceptable level. When the reliability analysis results are analyzed family life subscales of Cronbach’s alpha value is 822, school life sub dimension is 770 and personal-social sub dimensions are 695 were determined.
