DEVELOPMENT OF ANXIETY SCALE FOR TEACHING PROFESSION AND DETERMINATION OF SCIENCE TEACHER CANDIDATES’ READINESS LEVELS

 The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable anxiety scale to determine the teacher candidates’ anxiety levels towards the teaching profession and to reveal anxiety levels of science teacher candidates towards the teaching profession. Survey method was used in this study. Participants whose inputs were collected are selected by purposeful sampling which enables researcher to pick individuals which will be the answer to the problems of the research study. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21 package program. 35-items Anxiety Scale for Teaching Profession which was provided validity and reliability was developed as a result of the study. Then, prepared scale was applied the science teacher candidates. Finally, anxiety levels of teacher candidates showed differences according to scale items and anxiety have been found middle level.
