COMPARISON OF VALUE REPRESENTATIONS IN TV SERIES THROUGH THE USE OF SPACE

Spaces convey information whether they are aware or not about individual and social identity. The places we live in are an important communication tool that gives information about our cultural identity. Space needs to be understood in order for communication to take place. Social values play an important role in the process of creating meanings. The role played by places, one of the most important indicators of social values, cannot be denied. In accordance with the interrelationship between mass media and society, television reflects both social values and changes; is a tool that plays a decisive role in social change. In this study, among the contemporary series and the old series, which carries dramatic character and took place in mainstream television, spanned over 30 years, in terms of consumption spaces, sociability, postmodern cultural effects, spatial comparison is carried out to show the change in value representations.
