Abstract

It is not surprising that health is the number one priority for people who have been evolutionarily coded for the continuity of life. However, people face serious problems in maintaining their lives in a healthy way. Today, even in developed countries, the majority of the population is quite inadequate to meet their health-related needs. One of the problems faced by people is that the health insurance umbrella does not cover all individuals equally and the health support provided to individuals is not at a sufficient level. These difficulties direct people to do their own research primarily when they have health-related problems. However, getting the right information on a very personal subject such as health is a very difficult way. At this point, official institutions and organizations assigned for the provision of health services have important duties. Especially in times of general epidemics such as epidemics, it is important to manage correct health communication. Because when communication is not managed correctly, the collapse of health systems comes to the fore and this situation causes countries to enter a chaotic process and cause serious losses. In this study, the communication of the Ministry of Health, which is responsible for general health services in the TRNC, and the Disease Control and Prevention Center, known as CDC, during the epidemic period, was compared. Within the scope of the findings, it has been observed that the focus of the TRNC Ministry of Health Facebook posts is the institutions and individuals, in this context, the focus of the communication emphasis is the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health, and the communication is carried out in a one-way and mandatory manner. The focus of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Facebook posts was mainly on measures to be taken against the COVID-19 virus and general public health issues. In this context, it has been observed that the focus of communication is on the epidemic and general public health. It has been observed that the communication is carried out in a stimulating and mutual interaction manner.
