In this study, the effect of the Cingöz Recai series on the development of abstract thinking skills, which manifest itself in children from the age of 12, is discussed. Abstract thinking constitutes an important part of thinking styles. While studies are being done on abstract thinking in the fields such as science, mathematics and social sciences, this issue has been neglected in the field of Turkish language education. Literary texts are the most basic material in Turkish teaching. Students are not only provided with knowledge through literary texts; they are also provided with the ability to analyze, synthesize, understand and reach new ideas along with the cognitive and affective development of the individual. The ability to think hypothetically is one of the most effective factors in the development of the ability to think abstractly. That is why, in this study, the "hypothetical way of thinking" of the abstract operations period was dealt with alone, and 7 stories from Peyami Safa's 12 books collected under the name of “Cingöz Recai” in “Mi?on’?n Definesi” “Mishon’s Treasure” were examined. The narrative analysis method was used in this qualitative study.
