CHANGING DISCOURSE OF THE NARRATORS OF DAGIN OTE YUZU TRILOGY

In this study status of the narrators of Ya?ar Kemal’s Da??n Öte Yüzü trilogy, namely Ortadirek (1960), Yer Demir Gök Bak?r (1963) and Ölmez Otu (1968), is examined by analyzing the narrative techniques such as interior monologue, free indirect discourse, internal focalization and external focalization. In this regard, although the novels which constitute the trilogy have a kind of continuity in terms of character, theme and time, divergence of form of narration in each novel is stated and differentiation of narrative discourse related with unique atmosphere of fictional worlds in these novels are emphasized. Ya?ar Kemal has used relevant and coherent narrative techniques related with content of his trilogy.
