AUTHORITY CONCEPT AND REFLECTIONS OF AUTHORITY IN RESAT NURI GUNTEKNS NOVELS

Authority, which in everyday life simply defined as "dominion, the power and right of sanction" and often considered together with "strength, power" concepts, is a social phenomenon and it has been defined by various thinkers in specific areas such as political, social, religious, economic etc.. Max Weber is the first name that comes to mind regarding the concept. Weber examines authority as three different topics - legal, traditional and charismatic authority. He emphasises that what separates authority from government and power is the legitimacy of it. Due to being a social phenomenon, authority is being reflected in the literature texts. In Reat Nuri Güntekin’s novels the views of authority in various fields have been presented a literary way. The introduction of this study has focused on the conceptual dimensions of authority. The investigation part the reflections of authority in Guntekin’s novels have been identified. In the conclusion part the identified points have been evaluated.
