Abstract

Author(s): Birol CAN, Mehmet IŞIKLI

Since the middle of the 20th century, the academic disciplines of Archaeology and Art History have played an important role in the universities of our country, especially from the perspective of setting a good example in terms of common field work. From this viewpoint, it can be seen that these two disciplines intersect in several ways by way of purpose, and in terms of scope and method. Also they share similar historical background by way of formation and developmental processes, and use similar methodology and techniques in practice. In this essay these points of intersection will be analyzed in terms of theory and application.
