The general characteristic of houses of Bursa – where is a city located on the foothills of the Ke?i? (Olympus) Mountain – is that they are houses in harmony with the topography as the site is inclined. Bursa houses, planned with the principle of making the use of the land as much as possible, have a strong bond with their gardens. There are garden, courtyard, ta?l?k and service spaces such as kitchen and storehouse on the ground floor and sofa, selaml?k, harem and lywan on the upper floor in Bursa houses classified into different typologies according to floors. Ground floor plans have plan types with closed ta?l?k and open ta?l?k, upper floor plans have plan types with open outer sofa and closed outer sofa. The analysis of the spatial configuration of traditional Bursa houses - diversifying also according to having lywan or not on upper floors – via typologies is important from the point of the documentation of the civil architecture examples faced with danger of extinction today. In this sense, the space syntax analysis providing opportunities to do morphological analysis is determined as the method of this study. It is possible to make evaluations via different typologies with the comparison of the space syntax parameters such as integration, connectivity and mean depth. In the scope of this study, the ground floor and upper floor plans of the selected traditional Bursa houses belonged to 17th and 18th centuries are analyzed in Syntax 2D program and the diversifying plan typologies are comparatively evaluated depending on the space syntax parameter values.
