ANALYSIS OF THE AHADITH OF “A TIME WILL COME…” IN THE CONTEXT OF PROPHESIES OF THE PROPHET

In this article, epistemological value of the ahadith of the Prophet related to the future is examined and the debates regarding the source of these news -whether they are divine or humanly sayings- are reviewed. The research demonstrates that the source of these news are “unrevealed inspirations” (vahy gayr matluw) stated by the Prophet. In this context, the ahadith which are narrated by the Prophet with the phrase “a time will come…” in Kutub al-Sittah has been identified and information is provided regarding their authenticity and how to understand these ahadith which give information about the future. The reasons why these ahadith are told and the messages they give as in regard to today are examined.
