ANALYSIS OF ADULTS AGED 65 AND OVER IN TERMS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS IN TURKEY

It is a well-known fact that adults over 65 years of age are at risk in the Covid-19 pandemic, which causes the death of more than 460 thousand people worldwide. Therefore, revealing the needs of adults in this age group and protecting their health is of great importance. From this point of view, the purpose of this study to determine the level of chronic diseases and determine whether there is a relationship between gender and having this disease for the aged 65 and over adults in Turkey. In order to figure out that linkage, Turkish Health Survey 2016 data comprising 2.512 adults conducted by Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has been used. Analysis reveal that hypertension, joint diseases and diabetes have seen more common in adults over 65 years of age compared to other age groups. Additionally, a statistically significant difference in hypertension, waist and neck disorders and diabetes in men and women has been found
