AN EXAMINATION OF STUDIES ON PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN PRESCHOOL MAINSTREAM EDUCATION

The purpose of this survey study is to examine studies on problems and suggested solutions to problems which preschool teachers encountered in mainstream education. To this end, a literature review was conducted in the library and internet with key words such as “mainstream education”, “problems encountered in mainstream education”, “mainstream education and teacher” and “mainstream education in preschool”. Dissertations, articles and books which were found to be suitable for the purpose of the study were analyzed with document analysis technique. According to the results of the study, teachers serving in preschool education mentioned some problems such as not having adequate knowledge of mainstream education, lack of suitable physical conditions of classrooms for quality instruction, and not getting sufficient support from preschool institutions and from families. In addition to this, teachers stated that they tried to make suitable designs in the preschool education curriculum, but they encountered problems due to lack of favorable physical conditions of classrooms and lack of instructional materials.
